The question of how the Spider-Man: Homecoming title might parallel the comic book that it was taken from was a pretty big topic of conversation when it was announced.

Ultimately, the links to that comic are very much limited to spiritual ties - the biggest being the way Peter deals with the fallout of returning from a huge Avengers mission - but there does appear to be a nod to the comic's most famous set-up: the symbiote suit that would become Venom.

Homecoming came out in May 1984, introducing Peter's new black Spider-Man suit. In November of the same year, the revelation that the suit was alive came in The Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 258, escalating the events towards Venom's debut at the end of the decade.

Perhaps it's a little obscure, but Peter's locker number is 1184, in a possible nod to the Symbiote revelation from the climax of that Homecoming comic arc.
