Spider-Man: Homecoming - 9 Big Implications For The Future Of The MCU

3. The Avengers Initiative Is Still A Thing

After the events of Civil War, it was unclear if the Avengers Initiative still existed, or if it were even possible for it to. After all, the team was embroiled in a huge escalation that saw Black Widow betray them and go into hiding, War Machine paralysed, and the opposition to become an underground team. The plans of Stark had not only massively backfired, but also meant that there was no team except for Iron Man and Vision (which essentially means the Avengers is Stark and his butler).

Against all those odds, we learn in Homecoming that the Avengers are still going, and running a high level facility, despite being just a two-man job now. Which makes it slightly stranger that Tony is so reluctant to have Peter on board - he could probably do with the help.

This in turn means that, when Infinity War does roll back around, there won't have to be some big reboot of the Avengers Initiative. Yes, we'll still need to see Cap et al re-joining the team - and Thor and Hulk returning to "work" - but the Avengers does definitely still exist even after Civil War.
