Spider-Man: Homecoming - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

5. Happy Hogan

After he was almost killed in Iron Man 3, you could probably have expected Happy Hogan to be retired from being Tony Stark's not-very-good bodyguard, but he's important enough as the go-between for Peter and Tony to stretch that logic to fit.

Hogan is an archetype - of the downtrodden, put-upon side-kick - and it's interesting to see the difference in Tony's cool, almost aloof demeanour (the body of the swan) and his furious, almost neurotic attempts to keep everything afloat (the frantically kicking legs).

And while he's trusted with more to do, he's still the same hapless, bumbling oaf - entirely loveable with it, of course - and it's almost a shame he's not given more screen-time to bounce off Peter. Their clash of prickliness and youthful enthusiasm is very rewarding, after all.
