Spider-Man: Homecoming - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

16. The Tinkerer

Michael Chernus is a great comic actor, and The Tinkerer is a great supporting character to introduce to Homecoming on paper. He's a genius who relies on his brain (and his incredible knack for inventing complex gadgets out of the most useless seeming scrap), and who does get a chance to show off that skill a little in the film, but he's mostly just there as a support to Adrian Toomes.

In a packed cast of villains, he takes a pretty low-key role, and while he's clearly useful to the story, it's pretty hard to remember too much of what he actually does specifically, and that's probably not great news for him.

Hopefully, the fact that he's still at large might mean that we'll see more of him in future Spidey movies, because there's definitely more to develop. Let's hope he'll be kept on as a bridge to other villains (especially as we know he was responsible for building Scorpion's techy tail too).
