Spider-Man: Homecoming - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

15. Herman Schultz/Shocker

Bokeem Woodbine Shocker

Mercifully, Jon Watts and Marvel decided against introducing a Shocker who looked close to the original character's look from the comics. That would probably have been a little too silly, and would probably have robbed the characters of their grounded humanity (they're working class men who feel failed by corporate America, and it's actually crucial to feel a little sympathy for them).

Unfortunately, Bokeem Woodbine's Shocker is let down somewhat by the fact that he has to share too much screen-time with Logan Marshall-Green's version, which robs him of the precious space to build menace or mythology. The result is a surprisingly toothless graduated henchman, who ends up being beaten up way too many times to really matter.

And while Woodbine would be great as a full-time villain, leaving him to play with narrative scraps serves nobody.
