Spider-Man: Homecoming Review - 9 Ups & 3 Downs

9. The Final Post-Credits Scene

By now you know to sit through the long credits for MCU films, in the hope that there's something there linking to the next film in the series, or just rewarding you the same way Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 did with gags.

The first credits scene for Homecoming is great, and sets up a potential sequel appearance for Michael Mando's Scorpion (let's hope so, because he needs way more screen-time), but the second is the greatest prank pulled by a Marvel movie. Without outright spoiling it, it plays on the whole culture of sitting through end credits, using the Captain America PSA format established at various points in the film.

Sure, it's a massive f*ck you, but it's also a delightfully affectionate rib, and the tongue-in-cheek approach allows Marvel to get away with the cheekiness.
