Spider-Man: Homecoming Vs Spider-Man 2 - Which Is Better?
3. Pacing
Spider-Man 2 clocks in at a relatively lean 127 minutes and does a fantastic job packing a lot into its run-time, both in terms of character development for Peter and the aforementioned riveting action sequences. There's just enough downtime between set-pieces, and Raimi nails the balance perfectly.
Homecoming runs 133 minutes long, mercifully a little shorter than some of the other recent MCU movies, and for the most part flies by thanks to its hilarious script and fast-moving plot.
There is a slight lull in the middle once Peter has his suit taken away, but it's only barely significant, and soon enough the third act surges into full gear.
Winner: Both do well here, but Spidey 2 clinches it just because pretty much every scene feels important and interesting, while Homecoming does over-extend itself ever-so-slightly in the second act.
