Spider-Man: Homecoming Vs Spider-Man 2 - Which Is Better?

Spider-Man 2 is, of course, directed by the terrific Sam Raimi, who effortlessly one-upped his admirably goofy direction of the first film with a bigger, more visually engaging sequel that pretty much saw the director at the top of his game.

Homecoming, meanwhile, was the big break for indie director Jon Watts, who admirably rose to the occasion and made an impressive leap from $5 million indies to this $175 million tentpole.

Winner: Watts puts in a rock solid effort, but his work is just a little lacking in personality compared to Raimi's more effervescent approach, which feels more like the work of an auteur rather than a filmmaker forced to work to a studio's "house style".
