Spider-Man: Homecoming Vs Spider-Man 2 - Which Is Better?

Spider-Man 2 isn't just your quintessential superhero sequel: it's an ambitious expansion of the original's scope and ambition, depicting the personal toll being Spider-Man is taking on Peter, and his brief attempt to live a normal life.

On the other hand, Homecoming is a fairly radical diversion from the typical Spider-Man movie, fashioned more as a John Hughes-esque high school comedy that just so happens to also be a superhero movie.

Winner: This is a really tough one because they're both pretty successful here, but Spider-Man 2 overall is just much more emotionally and viscerally powerful, whereas Homecoming didn't bring much in terms of gravity or weight, and arguably felt a little too light for its own good.
