Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse - Every Version Of Spidey, Ranked
3. Spider-Woman
Yes, I know she’s Spider-Gwen but she refers to herself as Spider-Woman in universe so that’s what we’re going with. Maybe that will change if she ever meets the ‘real’ Spider-Woman, but for now... she’s Spider-Woman.
Hailee Steinfeld has been quietly building an impressive career for herself since her Oscar nomination for True Grit in 2011. She’s had a hit single (Starving), and starred in Pitch Perfect and Ender’s Game, as well as the upcoming Transformers spinoff, Bumblebee. And she’s still only 22. That Oscar nom? It came when she was just 13 years old.
All of those considerable chops are on display as Gwen Stacy. She has a confidence that meshes well with the other two ‘main’ Spideys, especially since her humour is much drier. As with everyone else, her animation is slick and enticing throughout too.
Her backstory and closed off harshness make her well rounded, and you feel she’s a prime candidate for the inevitable sequel. Sony obviously agreed, as a spin-off has been greenlit. The only thing that keeps her in third is the lack of a major arc; everything else from her is pretty much note perfect.
