Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse - Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
10. Peni Parker
A big part of the reason Into the Spider-Verse feels like such a fresh take on Spidey in the world of cinema is that it doesn't exclusively rely on the old school characters we've seen numerous times before. It's brave enough to give some of the newer, less-established Spidey offshoots a time to shine and it certainly pays off. Take for instance, Peni Parker.
The character is intriguing enough on a conceptual level, given the fact that she has a telepathic connection with a spider in a mech suit. Granted the emotional punch of a certain moment involving the two could have used a bit more build-up, but Peni also brings a certain energy to the team of Spideys that they probably didn't know they needed, but would probably be worse off without.
This character also stands as a testament to the incredible job done by this film's animators, as the anime-esque style Peni is animated in not only allows her to express herself in a way that sets her apart, but also seamlessly plays off of the contrasting visual styles around her.
