Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse - Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

3. Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen

In many ways, Gwen Stacy is the rock of Into the Spider-Verse's Spider-army. Of all of the other heroes, she is the most down-to-Earth, the most driven, and the most adept at using her arsenal of abilities to their fullest.

It's Gwen who has to serve as the all-important middle ground between a completely inexperienced Miles Morales and a burnt-out Peter Parker. Without her in the mix, there was virtually no chance of success against the Kingpin.

Besides, not only is she the cornerstone of the team, she's also incredibly entertaining, unbelievably witty, and while there isn't a terribly long amount of time dedicated to her origin story, the film still manages to get her motivation, as well as the all-important Spider-person guilt complex, across in an effective way. What's more, she's another example of a relatively new Spider-hero getting the spotlight.

Her comedic scenes land, her dramatic scenes land, and her sheer force of personality takes care of everything in between. In other words, Into the Spider-Verse's Gwen Stacy represents exactly what any big screen interpretation of one of Marvel's Spider-people should aspire to be.

Sony clearly realizes this character's potential as well. Hence, their upcoming films that are ready to bring her back.
