When Tobey's Peter and Andrew's Peter first meet Tom's Peter, Spider-Holland is still grieving the death of Aunt May, ready to give up. Spider-Maguire and Spider-Garfield encourage him to keep going and ensure that May did not die for nothing. They try to relate to Tom, but Tom shuts them down, saying they have no idea what he is going through. Both Spider-Men then tell Tom about how they've handled loss in the past, and in doing so, Andrew reveals a dark element of his character.

Garfield's Wall-crawler tells Tom and Tobey that, after the death of Gwen Stacy, he stopped pulling his punches. This implies that he's killed some villains. Given that this film's plot is about Spider-Man's quest to save his enemies, this revelation comes off as grim. Andrew regrets his decisions, and warns Tom not to follow his path, but it's still upsetting to learn what happens to the Amazing Spider-Man.

At least we have a better idea as to how his fight with the Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ends.
