As with Herman Schultz, Mac Gargan made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming, however he never evolved into his evil alter ego of Scorpion. The character was recruited by Adrian Toomes for the job upon the Staten Island Ferry, but when it was disrupted by both Spider-Man and Iron Man, Gargan found himself in prison.

There was a tease during the Homecoming credits that Mac wanted revenge on Spider-Man, as he wanted to know if Toomes really knew the identity of the masked superhero. This has, as of yet, come to nothing in the MCU, but this could change in No Way Home. Since his associate kept his lips sealed, Mac Gargan may have put the word out among the criminals of New York and found himself in league with Doctor Octopus.

With Gargan, here is another character at the MCU’s disposal that wouldn’t require much of an introduction. He has been previously established, though his transformation into Scorpion, whether on or off-screen, would require a bit of explanation.

This would bring a unique, cinematically brilliant villain to the fray, one that hasn’t been seen before in live action, and would finally pay off the Homecoming mid-credit sting from four years prior.
