Spider-Man: Ranking All The Movie Costumes Worst To Best
6. The Amazing Spider-Man
When the plans for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 fell through, Sony didn't wait long to announce a complete rebooting of the franchise. With only 10 years passing since the premiere of Raimi's first film (and 5 since the last), The Amazing Spider-Man hit theaters with an all-new cast and a new suit to boot.
For this film, the production team opted to redesign the Spider-Man suit into a slightly-more modern looking version of the last suit. The lines and logo share a closer resemblance to the suit worn in the Ultimate Universe, but retain much of what makes the character look like Spider-Man.
The familiar red waist stripe was removed for emphasis on the wrists and gloves. Red and blue were intermixed with stripes to create a new pattern, which was still reminiscent of the old.
This suit likely appealed to younger readers who were more familiar with the Earth-1610 version of the character, but its adherence to familiar colors and standards set by the previous film appealed to pretty much everyone else.
