Spider-Man Upcoming MCU Trilogy: 9 Things We Want To See
7. More MJ Or Someone New?
Throughout the years, we've also seen multiple portrayals of Peter's love interest, Mary Jane. First played by Kirsten Dust in Sam Raimi's trilogy as well as becoming a temporary playable character in Insomniac's Spider-Man games. Zendaya's portrayal of MJ differed from the regular comic version, most notably being renamed to Michelle Jones.
Unfortunately, a common feature in every re-imagination of the couple's pairing is the continuous pressure and worry each of them feels throughout Spider-Man's years.
No Way Home's conclusion ended Peter's relationships with pretty much everyone (excluding people currently off-world) especially MJ, leaving fans reeling. After their final moment of interaction in the Donut Shop before ending the film, whether or not MJ will return is now up for question.
Marvel hasn't officially confirmed Zendaya’s return in Spider-Man 4, however, there always could be a chance that Peter would want to try and re-build his relationship back up with MJ. If not, the door could be opening for a new interest to join Peter's side.
This could range between Gwen Stacy's MCU introduction (as either Spider-Gwen or just her usual self) or even Black Cat's live-action debut which would create a relationship more resembling of DC's Batman and Catwoman. Whatever Marvel decides to do with this opportunity, we hope Peter won't forget everything that has happened before.
