Spider-Man: What Every Major Movie Villain ALMOST Looked Like
11. Doctor Octopus - Spider-Man 2
Doctor Octopus has a very strong case to be the best villain in any Spider-Man movie and a lot of that comes down to the performance of Alfred Molina and the decision to go fairly simple on his design. Sure, he has the mech-arms, but he doesn't have any other markers that you might expect from a supervillain.
That might have changed if Tim Flattery's concept art - featuring a cape - had been used in the end. He would have been very much more Magneto than Doc Ock...
There was also a bald version of Ock doing the rounds at one point too. Nice little touch on his mug there...
Tim Flattery also put together a look that ended up being pretty close to one of Ock's looks in the final film (albeit with slightly less of a Matrix/Neil Gaiman feel to it).
