Spider-Woman: 10 Things You Need To Know Before Her Movie
4. She Has A Child
Just like Olivia Wilde used Booksmart to explore a lesbian relationship between two young girls in a very real and grounded way, she could easily have Spider-Woman delve into the fact that Jessica Drew is a both a superhero and mother. That's not something we've ever really seen from a comic book character on screen, and definitely not from a female superhero.
Gerald Drew was first introduced in 2016, and even as a baby, he's displayed spider powers. Already, he can climb walls and shock people with his venom blasts, and it's been a lot of fun seeing how Spider-Woman balances being a mother with fighting crime.
Without getting too serious or hard-hitting, Spider-Woman telling the story of a teenage pregnancy could work really well, and Jessica actually spent a fair bit of time being a superhero before giving birth (which, as you might imagine, led to a lot of very interesting and unexpected adventures). This might be best saved for a sequel, but it's something that helps makes Spider-Woman even more unique.
