One detail about the rest should shape expectations more than you might initially think. The release date for Homecoming reads: July 7th 2017. That's smack bang in the middle of summer blockbuster season and suggests a certain tone and a certain commitment to no holds barred fun.

The release slot also means the film will be competing with Transformers 5, Uncharted, Kingsman 2, Despicable Me 3 and is quickly followed by War For The Planet Of The Apes and Chrisopther Nolan's Dunkirk. That's a lot of big name movies to contend with, and there's no way Marvel will tolerate the idea of sharing the box office pot.
