Spider-Man Homecoming: 5 Scenes We Need (And 5 We Don't)
3. Powers Transmitted By Radioactive Spider

Just like the Uncle Ben death scene, weve seen this origin twice before - in 2002 and 2012. Where the former scene should be omitted for the sake of tension as well as unpredictability, this particular bite should be removed for a different reason entirely. Does it really fit with the Marvel universe that Spider-Man is now a part of?
The MCU is full to the brim with sorcery, wonder and spectacle, but the idea that a spider could become almost self-aware and lay its fangs into an unsuspecting teen is borderline parody. What's more, most of the wondrous aspects of this cinematic universe are based in technology, not magic. Even the ants in Ant-Man didn't act under their own influence. They were controlled to perfection by Hank Pym and Scott Lang, and the film offered us a neat explanation as to why things are the way they are.
On another note, origin stories take time, screen-time, that could be better used on something audiences haven't seen twice before. Say what you will about Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, but the fact that it didn't place too much of a focus on any origin stories sped proceedings along, and if anything, this helped the movie. Skipping past all the stuff we've seen before and investing time into world-building while fleshing out an already-bitten Spider-Man would be a wise move. Get on it Marvel-heads.
