Star Trek: 10 Things You Didn't Know About General Chang

3. Chang - Yellow Lantern?

IDW Publishing

In 2015, IDW Publishing released Star Trek/Green Lantern: The Spectrum War. This crossover event features the crew of the Kelvin Universe USS Enterprise, along with the alternate version of General Chang. The Guardian of Oa, Ganthet, took rings of power to this alternate universe in an attempt to hide them from Nekron, though had died in the process.

The crew of the Enterprise discovers Ganthet's remains, accidentally activating the rings. The Yellow Power ring finds a new home with Chang himself. Using the power ring, he directs his Bird of Prey, the IKS Muqtovar, to attack the Enterprise, but is blocked by Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

He returns to Qo'noS and kills the High Council, establishing himself as the new Emperor. Yellow Lantern Sinestro arrives and easily beats the Klingon, far more practiced as he is with the power ring. However, they team up to attack the Red Lanterns Atrocitus and Glocon, a Gorn, and the Orange Lanterns, Larfleeze and the Romulan Praetor, Decius.

The battle rages through space and only ends when the Power Rings choose Spock to carry the entire emotional spectrum. The rings abandon their new owners and Chang, Glocon and Decius all die in the vacuum of space.
