Star Trek 3: 10 Aliens That Have To Appear

2. Cardassians

cardiassians Talking of the wormhole, what about the Cardassians? Now here me out on this one. Star Trek: The Next Generation already established this enemy as a race that had been at war with the Federation, even before they rose to prominence in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. So there is a history to this people that fits between this timeline and Picard€™s. This new series timeline would be a perfect chance to focus on the origins of the Cardassians in Star Trek mythology and what led to the conflict that followed decades later. Arrogant, cruel and sometimes aggressive they would be an alternative to the Klingons that would, like the Q or the Dominion, cement these films with what came after as well as before. With their secret police, the €˜Obsidian Order€™, their warships and penance for occupation of other races, they would be an unexpected presence in the Alpha Quadrant, even if the focus were to fall to the ultimate enemy of Kirk, the Klingons.
