2. Up Yours, Federation!
Well, it wouldn't be called Insurrection if there wasn't a, well, insurrection, now would it? Seems from what we understand of the plot that the redoubtable crew of what will now be the USS Enterprise-E (What was it they said: plenty more letters left?) will be standing up to and taking on the Federation, "going dark" as they say, and helping the natives in their struggle. So for once we shouldn't have to hear any pontifications on the Prime Directive, which will be a blessing in itself. Also, the idea of Picard and crew fighting their erstwhile bosses will be something to see.
1. Love's Labour Not Quite Lost
Looks like romance is on the cards for Riker and Troi. Mind you, with a central role like that to play I would wonder how our Will is going to manage dividing his time between the director's chair and scenes of lurve? Still, if anyone can do it, Johnny's our man! After all the will-they-wont-they-no-they-wont we had to suffer throughout the series, it'll be nice to see how things eventually turn out for the two starcrossed lovers when they give in to their raging hormones and realise that they fancy the pants off each other. Again. So, five solid reasons why this next movie should be a blockbuster. Oh, and Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello is in it. What more could you ask for? This is going to be the one, ladies and gents. This will put Star Trek back on the map, where it belongs, and surely ensure that we have an ongoing stream of Star Trek movies that will take us right into the twenty-first century, and, who knows? Maybe the twenty-second too. Book your tickets now!
