Star Trek: 5 Reasons Insurrection Can't Fail

4.Data Runs Amock

Star Trek Insurrection We're told that in the film (at the beginning, if sneak previews are to be believed) Data loses it and starts attacking his allies. And that can't be anything but a great thing. Not since the days of Descent have we had to think of our favourite plastic man as being a danger to his ship and crew, and now add to that the fact that they're bringing back that emotion chip thing and we should have a Data that will light up the movie, in one way or another.

3. Picard Gets Some!

After a dark, tortured performance in First Contact, and on the back of asking for more luck with the ladies for his character, it seems that this movie will actually have a real love interest for the good captain. And we're not just talking a fantasy one like in Generations, but a real, honest-to-goodness flesh and blood woman who thinks bald men are sexy, and bald men with phaser rifles are even sexier! Can we expect an 18 rating on Insurrection as the captain embraces the wild side we all recognise is bubbling just under the surface? Probably not, but maybe the "boring love stuff" might keep away some of the kids. Only right, too: screaming children, ruining the film for me, some day they're gonna pay. They're all gonna pay. Sorry, I digress..
