Star Trek Beyond: 10 Best Moments

4. "For Anton"

Though Leonard Nimoy died while the movie was in post-production such that it could actually be worked into the film's production in a meaningful way, the same wasn't true of Anton Yelchin, whose untimely death a month prior to the movie's release shocked the film world, though Chekov's role in the film was totally unaffected as filming finished many months ago.

In the middle of the credits, a simple but moving message followed a tribute to Nimoy, simply reading, "For Anton". The filmmakers were always going to include something, but it was still an incredibly emotional moment for fans, perhaps because of its tasteful simplicity above all else.

Either way, this combined with the fact that J.J. Abrams has already confirmed Chekov won't be recast for future movies ensures that the character got as tidy a send-off as possible.
