Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

66. Huron

The Huron class was strictly a cargo ship, with nacelles that were roughly the same size as the contemporary Constitution class ships, though the primary hulls were smaller. They had limited defenses, relying on escort vessels to keep them safe and to get their primary cargo of dilithium to safety.

The Huron ships were often targeted by Orion raiders who were hoping to secure an easy victory over these vessels, lightly armed and manned as they were. In truth, a Huron type ship on its own had virtually no chance of withstanding an attack from an Orion ship.

The bridge was located in the upper foremost section, with an odd assortment of nacelles around the vessel. The bridge itself was unlike other Starfleet designs, in that there was no central captains chair. The crew operated the vessel from large consoles, fore and aft, with as few as three people being able to pilot the vessel.
