Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

45. Intrepid (22nd Century)

Star Trek Intrepid

The Intrepid was a light cruiser that was in service in Starfleet in the 22nd century, serving as support craft for larger vessels in the fleet. Its nacelles were similar to the NX class, though it couldn't reach the same speeds. Those nacelles were attached directly to the primary hull on either side.

The ship looked like a predecessor to the NX, with many of the same angles and turrets, though it could not stand the same kind of battering that ships like Enterprise could take. In an alternate timeline, an Intrepid ship falls victim to the Xindi, blown apart by a combined assault.

However, in the prime timeline, the Intrepid, under the command of Captain Ramirez, came to the aid of Enterprise when it came under fire from a Klingon Bird of Prey. The ship may not have been the strongest, but it could be counted on in a pinch!
