Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

41. Armstrong

Star Trek Armstrong Type
CBS

The Armstrong class of ship existed in the alternate reality created by the Romulan Nero. This ship had three nacelles, similar to the prime universe's Niagara class. However, aesthetically it was closer to the prime-Miranda class, as these three nacelles were swept down and below the primary hull.

There were two named Armstrong type ships - the USS Armstrong itself and the USS Excelsior. The Excelsior had a darker brown colour, while the Armstrong had a standard white-grey pallet, similar to the USS Enterprise.

Both of these ships were lost over the Battle of Vulcan as they proved unable to match the Narrada's offensive capabilities. However, the class was not retired as, just before the USS Enterprise's final mission, one was seen docked at Starbase Yorktown.
