Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

29. Ambassador

The Ambassador Class starship was popularized by the sadly doomed USS Enterprise-C. It was a middle-ground between the Excelsior class vessels and the Galaxy class vessels. It had a circular saucer section like the older vessels, although the general layout was closer to the Galaxy class.

They were powerful vessels, with the Enterprise-C able to hold its own against four Romulan Warbirds before being overrun. There were Ambassador Class vessels at Wolf-359, along with the Federation blockade of the Klingon-Romulan border.

Though the ship did not receive as much exploration as others in the fleet, the Ambassador class was a beautiful, sleek design, while still being a heavy cruiser. Although severely outgunned by Klingon K'vort class Birds of Prey, they were still able to withstand several direct shots from their disruptors.
