Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

27. NX

Star Trek Enterprise NX-01

The NX class was Starfleet's first Warp 5 vessel, taking over for the older Freedom class in the 22nd century. The first of these ships was named Enterprise and the rest, as they say, is history.

The vessel featured a design that was very like submarines. The corridors were cramped, as were all living quarters. It was not a vessel that was designed for comfort by any means, yet it was fully capable of undergoing deep space missions and taking a serious amount of damage while remaining operational.

The style of ship underwent a refit, adding a secondary hull and deflector dish, though this design did not last long before it began to be phased out of service.

The NX class exists now as a museum piece of the earliest days of Starfleet.
