Star Wars: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Young Han Solo

1. Anton Yelchin

Who Is He? Perhaps best known as Chekov in the revamped Star Trek franchise, Yelchin is a curious young man who has been firing out a stream of decent performances for quite some time. Russian-born and American-raised, this actor is youthful, funny and capable of excellence. Why He's Great For Solo: Yelchin brings an earnestness and loyalty to Chekov in Star Trek. Those are good character traits for Solo, while the film's action scenes show us that he's convincing when the chips are down and he's got to focus. He's clearly comfortable kicking ass in space (big, big plus), but can also act too, starring in Sundance Best Picture winner Like Crazy. He's also got experience taking on an iconic cool role (not saying Chekov isn't cool, but you know). His Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation was the film's highlight, embodying Michael Biehn while also bringing something new to the table. On The Other Hand... While young Solo will be boyish to a certain extent, it's difficult to imagine the character without an ability to take care of himself "out on the streets" as it were. Yelchin is very, very boyish with a slight frame. The tough part of him comes from the head, not the muscles, and Solo, while awesome, is no genius. Yelchin's slight geekiness may cramp Solo's style.
