Star Wars: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Young Han Solo
2. Sam Claflin
Who Is He? Yet another young product of the seemingly inexhaustible British exports, Claflin is an chiseled, handsome and photogenic young actor who can be found in some very big films of late. Why He's Great For Solo: While he's rumoured to be in talks for Star Wars Rogue One, it has not been confirmed yet. Besides, it is in the Boba Fett/Han Solo spin off that Sam Claflin may fit better. This is down to two reasons. Firstly, Claflin can play the arrogant man with good intentions convincingly. This is evidenced in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire; when you are first introduced to him, the Lawrence-allied minds fire off all sorts of alarm bells, but young Finnick proves his worth all the same. The second reason is that he can prove he has heart too. Pirates Of The Caribbean: On The Stranger Tides is a shambolic Sparrow-fest that should never have been made. But into this was thrown Claflin, as pure-hearted Philip; probably the only honest man in the film. Even ferocious mermaids loved him. Yes, the film was rubbish, but his character wasn't as ridiculous as say, a zombie ship controlled by a sword. On The Other Hand... Whilst he's proven that he can oscillate between being totally trustworthy and not at all, in different roles, Claflin has yet to prove he can do both at the same time. What's more, there's something dangerously Orlando Bloom-esque about this guy. Attempting Solo may have him come off as basically a posh twat.
