Star Wars: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Young Han Solo

10. Jack O'Connell

Who Is He? First breaking on to the scene as James Cook in the UK programme Skins, O'Connell has slowly but surely built a strong career for himself. Stocky, handsome and intense, he brings a hard edge and determination to his characters. He visibly buzzes with youthful energy and with a recent BAFTA Rising Star Award under his belt, he's got the acting chops. Why He's Great For Solo: Recently, O'Connell has shown his talent for playing tough, resilient young men. In Starred Up, he plays a caged, dangerous and ferocious youth in prison. In Unbroken, he showed he could carry a lacklustre movie from rubbish to watchable (harder than you might think). And of course, there's Skins, the OTT programme about teens being horny and drinking and such, and he fit in perfectly as James, a pitbull of a character if ever there was one. He's tough and he's charismatic. On The Other Hand... There is one rather large problem with O'Connell. As an actor, he is undoubtedly one to watch, practically the next Tom Hardy even. And therein lies the problem; Han Solo is funny. Although he's a tough old sod, he warms your heart and always had the audience giggling. Could this bright young star charm the pants of you and still fight his corner?
