Star Wars: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Young Han Solo

9. Jeremy Irvine

Who Is He? Jeremy Irvine is best known for taking the lead role in Spielberg's stage-to-screen film, War Horse. A boyish rhythm coupled with piercing eyes and a demonstrable grasp of drama make Irvine a satisfying actor to watch. Why He's Great For Solo: Let's put War Horse in to context. Here is the first film Spielberg had used an unknown in, for ages. The films he actually directed from 1989's Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade up until War Horse all had established stars in them, or at the very least, known and respected thesps. Enter Irvine, a rookie if ever there was one. He took the role and made it wonderful. He was charming, innocent, excitable (all crucial young Solo traits) and capable of the kind of drama WWI flicks demand. Ballsy stuff from a kid from Cambridgeshire. On The Other Hand... Young Mr. Irvine has not had a movie of the same magnitude since War Horse. Great though he was, his performance could be slightly attributed to the fact that he was under the wing of arguably the greatest director in the history of cinema, ever. Can you see him cracking-wise with a good blaster by his side?
