Star Wars: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Young Han Solo
8. Shia LaBeouf
Who Is He? Ah, silly Shia. Blessed with charisma, charm and good looks, he won audience affections in Holes and Transformers, but it all went up the wall when he had a bit of a meltdown. Not to worry though, the talent is intact and he can still churn out good stuff. He's an intelligent actor, who can clearly handle action, drama and comedy. Why He's Great For Solo: Before he made the world hate him a little bit, he charmed us in a slew of films, he was even once dubbed as the new Tom Hanks. Perhaps the reason he's "Great For Solo" however, is his turn as the aptly named Mutt Williams in Indiana Jones And The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Feelings towards this film aside, it surely must be said that Shia did a good job of playing Indiana's son. Replete with motorbike, a bad attitude and silly vanity, he even managed to copy Jones' resourcefulness and quick thinking. If he can echo one of Ford's greats, he can do it again. On The Other Hand... Shia has had "delusions of grandeur". Talent and good intentions aside, he's made the classic actor mistake of gaining notoriety outside the cinemas and, because of it, you're always aware you're watching him. That will not wash with a portrayal of the great Han Solo.
