Star Wars: 10 Awesome Ideas Disney Must Include In Episode X

7. The Heroic Death Of Chewbacca

Although Han Solo came to an end in the Force Awakens, his loyal companion and everyone's favourite furry fuzzball survived. In Legends things happened a little differently, however. Han actually outlived Chewie.

After the fall of the Empire, and the during the rise of the New Republic, a new threat, the Yuuzhan Vong, turned up and started wreaking havoc. During the early stages of the conflict, Han, Chewie and Anakin Solo (Han's and Leia's son) attempted to rescue as many people as they could from a soon-to-be-destroyed planet. But Chewbacca got left behind and his last act of defiance saw him screaming his Wookiee-war-cry into the destruction that engulfed him.

If the Yuuzhan Vong (or something like them) are used as the new antagonists, we could see a similar event in Episode X. If at the end of the film, the Vong destroy a planet, and along with it, one of the last remaining characters from the original trilogy, it would be one hell of a way to symbolically say goodbye to the old era, and welcome in the new.
