4. Rey Turns To The Dark Side To Save The Galaxy.
Chances are Rey will feature in the new trilogy. Reports that Daisy Ridley has signed on with Disney for three upcoming Star Wars projects, would indicate this is likely. But to what capacity will she be included?
There are a few possibilities. If the new trilogy revives some of George Lucas' ideas for the sequels, we could see Rey fulfilling the role Leia was originally intended to do - I.e. attempting to revive the New Republic after the destruction of the old one, and wrestling with all the political complications that come with a power vacuum. This would be particularly interesting if set against the backdrop of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.
With a looming threat approaching the galaxy, we could see Rey fail to unite a fractured populous, against hordes of fanatical aliens. We've already seen Rey tempted by the Dark Side, and with the confirmation that she is Palpatine's granddaughter, her association with it is strong. She may become so desperate that she embraces the Dark Side in a last attempt to unite the galaxy against the Yuuzhan Vong.
