Star Wars: 10 Awkward Prequel Moments Fans Will Never Forget

Probably the most popular meme moment in all of Star Wars, teenage angsty Anakin and now senator Padme have a discussion on Naboo after trying to escape bounty hunters sent by ex Jedi Count Dooku about sand.

Padme brings up the dusty topic by reflecting on happy memory she had living in basically her summer home where she and her friends would swim in the gorgeous lake to a small island in the middle where they would dry themselves on the soft sand and relax.

After hearing Pamde's optimistic view on the sand of Naboo, Anakin states "I don't like sand, It's all coarse and rough, and irritating. And it gets everywhere." After stating his hatred of sand he then creepily touches Padme and they share a kiss they really really should not have.

Obviously the point the film was trying to make was how Padme and Anakin share conflicting views of the galaxy that came from their different lifestyles in how they were raised and where they were born, with Padme growing up in the lap of luxury on a very peaceful planet, and Anakin having to struggle to survive as a slave. Their views on the sand were meant to show how Padme always looked at the brighter side of life while Anakin can see only the bad and the uncomfortable.

But nonetheless, the line instead came off as funny and just weird instead of deep, and fans now only view the line as Anakin being the creepy angsty teen he was.
