Star Wars: 10 Classic Characters Who Need Their Own Movie
7. Master Sifo-Dyas
Sifo-Dyas was only briefly mentioned in the saga, named as the Jedi Master who ordered the creation of a clone army for use by the Republic. Avoiding the expanded universe - which the new films will most likely discard - we know absolutely nothing of Sifo-Dyas, which is disproportional to the huge legacy he has left upon the Star Wars universe.
For without Sifo-Dyas, Order 66 would never have occurred and the rise of the Empire may have happened completely differently. A spin-off for this character would most likely take place around the time of The Phantom Menace, if not shortly before, and the only effective plot would follow how he ordered the Clone Army on Kamino but more importantly why.
Did he foresee the Clone Wars? Or the rise of the Empire? If so, how? By the time of the Phantom Menace, there is no presence or mention of Sifo-Dyas, which suggests a climatic and possibly tragic end to this tale. The work of Sidious or Maul, perhaps?
Sifo-Dyas may not be a "classic" Star Wars character to many, but the speculation which has surrounded him since Attack of the Clones has made him an almost infamous being who most fans would love to know a bit more about.
