6. Shatterpoint
This standalone novel follows Jedi Master Mace Windu as he tracks down his former apprentice Depa Bilaba on his home world of Haaurn Kal after she breaks away from the Jedi Order. While on the planet, Mace Windu becomes embroiled in the conflict between resistance fighters and armies of the confederacy. The novel gives more insight into the character of Mace Windu and according to the author Matthew Stover, it was heavily influenced by Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness and the film Apocalypse Now. The film adaption would have plenty of room to showcase Mace Windu's abilities that he didn't get to show off in the prequel trilogy ( I always thought Windu should have been the one to fight Dooku in Episode II and Yoda should have been saved for Episode III). The adaption would offer a darker alternative to some of the other standalone film options and would obviously provide more screen time for Mace Windu.
