5. Shadows Of The Empire
The novel that shows events between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The main focus of the novel deals with Prince Xizor's, the galaxy's most powerful criminal, attempts to undermine Darth Vader by killing Luke Skywalker. The climax occurs when Luke, Lando and Dash Rendar must infiltrate Xizor palace to free Princess Leia and Chwebacca. The novel ends with Xizor's Skyhook being destroyed by Vader's Super Star Destroyer Executor. The film adaption would show a seedier side of Star Wars then what has been previously been shown in the films. It would also introduce two pretty decent character in Prince Xizor and Han Solo stand in Dash Rendar. Xizor is a menacing reptilian alien who constantly schemes on how to improve his standing in the galaxy and is ridiculously rich; Dash Rendar is a Corellian smuggler who flies a ship similar to the Millenium Faclon and has a personality similar to Solo. There would also be room in the adaption to include Boba Fett and the constant harassment he endures from fellow Bounty Hunters and Rebel forces as he attempts to deliver Solo to Jabba the Hutt.
