Star Wars: 10 Ideas For A New Disney+ Series

8. A Rise Of The Rebellion Series

So, the Obi-Wan series is finally coming to the screens with a synopsis that seems to follow Obi-Wan watching baby Luke play in sandpits from afar. And while that does fill in some gaps between Episode III and Episode IV, it doesn't answer some questions we might have about Leia.

We know Senator Organa and his wife take in baby Leia and raise her like a daughter, and for twenty years she is sheltered and hidden by the Organas on her "home planet" of Alderaan.

But there must be more to this, as who else knows the true lineage of Leia? Besides the pitch for this series being something of a political thriller that sees the Organas build the Rebel Alliance, it would be tension inducing to watch the Organas mislead, hide and even kill individuals who suspect Leia is not who she is posited to be?

The idea of the Emperor sending assassins and spies out to look for Luke and Leia is very possible (and most likely going to be explored in the Obi-Wan series), and while Obi-Wan and Owen are sure to wave blasters and lightsabres about to protect Luke, a more subtle and cut-throat version by the Organas and their allies would be just as entertaining to watch.

If nothing else, a series that sees Jimmy Smits in a fabulous cape again would win awards and acclaim regardless, right?

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
