Star Wars: 10 Ideas For A New Disney+ Series

6. An Espionage Thriller

Yes, Andor is going to supposedly be the spy thriller series we always wanted to see in Rogue One; an origin story to the days before Leia got those legendary plans for the Death Star. There is no doubt going to be cloak and dagger mystique, twinned with under the table passing of information, but with audiences already knowing where the character's destiny's wind up, the stakes aren't really as high as we'd like them.

Alongside Andor, Disney could explore more conspiratorial and espionage-based narratives within the Star Wars universe. We've seen our fair share of double-crosses and double-agents going for or against the heroes on screen, but they've always been peripheral to the focal point of the story.

Why not, a series not unlike Homeland in which counterintelligence agencies working in the Republic, manipulate things from behind the scenes of the Clone or Rebel Wars? All those times when The Force was supposedly the reason for a heroes random success, could in fact be the workings of a few slippery spies making deals under the table.

Still not sold? Picture a series where one of Queen Amidala's handmaiden's is a spy for Senator Palpatine and had been feeding Shiv valued information from the beginning. Or the opposite, in which a spy infiltrates the Senate with exclusive orders to feed intelligence back to...the Jedi of all people? The web of intrigue that could come from this series is palpable.

And not to mention, subverting audience expecatations at every turn.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
