Star Wars: 10 Ideas For A New Disney+ Series

5. A Murder-Mystery Series

Everyone likes a mystery. The set pieces, red herrings and breadcrumbs of clues that get dropped about the story from the very beginning can playfully tangle with a viewers mind until everything is laid out for them. And if there's one mystery I'm certain audiences never get tired of, it's a murder mystery.

Set on Cloud City, the series could be a whodunnit from the first episode and by the last we learn the culprit all along is none other than the subservient, baffled droid that was serving everyone blue milk when they first arrived. Or was it? Everyone's a suspect when the lights are switched on and there's a body in the room!

The series could lay out its diverse characters like a board game, and pick them off one-by-one like a slasher film. Audience expectations can be thrown about the place as the wise Jedi visiting couldn't foresee their own demise, and the cocksure smuggler we think is going to be a hero is pushed down an air lock and down to the planet of Bespin. Given the slasher angle, there could be a horror element too that we rarely see in Star Wars.

While this is all grounds for a quick film, the series could take its time exploring the complexities of Cloud City - an exciting location we didn't learn much about in Empire Strikes Back. And this idea isn't exclusive to one season - as the anthology angle can take the death and elusiveness to all kinds of places.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
