Star Wars: 10 Ideas For A New Disney+ Series

4. A Cool Heist Series

Over the last ten years, Star Wars properties have slowly teased fans and casual audiences alike with the simple conceit that not everything has to revolve around the Skywalker Saga. You writer would go one further, and say not everything has to even involve the wars we've seen on the big screen.

As suggested in previous entries, a story that is completely devoid of the main plots could be for the franchise's betterment, and if Disney are going to play with genres within the Star Wars mythos - why not slip into the shoes of a slick, Ocean's Eleven style heist format?

With the success of Netflix' Money Heist, if there's one thing audiences absolutely love, it's a crime caper. Your scribe would be very surprised to learn that someone at Disney hasn't pitched a heist series set within the Star Wars universe. The concept is simple, and the expanding universe of Star Wars grants ample opportunity for a writer to put together a flourishing, diverse and broad team of cool and charming characters as they set off to rob an esteemed property.

Imagine for a second, a twelve-part series that follows a band of plucky thieves as they set their sights on a bank owned by the Hutts, or that fancy casino from The Last Jedi, or better yet - while the wars are going on, and the galaxy is distracted by the Empire's mission against the droid federation, our gang of misfit crooks take to robbing Chancellor Palpatine's private vaults.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
