Star Wars: 10 Insane Easter Eggs You Totally Missed In Rogue One

6. Black Sabre (Darksaber)

While it now may have become one of the most unmistakable artefacts taking up residence in this galaxy, far away in recent times due to its appearances in The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett Disney+ shows, back in 2016 a certain Darksaber was largely only known by those who had been taking in the aforementioned Rebels series, The Clone Wars, and some of the tales being told on the canon comic book page.

So, you can imagine the delight that flared up in those dedicated few when the mention of a "Black Sabre" was made during Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor's scan through the Imperial Archives on Scarif.

While little is actually known as to what the Imperial forces were planning for the blade, the weapon would ultimately fall into the hands of Imperial warlord Moff Gideon by the time of the Mando series, again hinting at the Empire having their eyes on the weapon for some time.

The likes of Stellar Sphere, Mark Omega, and Pax Aurora, again all projects named during this archive search, also all act as separate departments for the eventual Death Star project that would wreak havoc on the galaxy, according to the Rogue One prequel novel Catalyst.
