Star Wars: 10 Possible Standalone Films

9. Order 66€™s Fallout

One of the most significant events in the history of the Star Wars galaxy is Order 66 and the Republic's purge of the Jedi thanks to the help of its Clone Troopers. Many writers in the Star Wars Expanded Universe have examined Order 66 from the perspective of surviving Jedi as well as some Clones in the years since Revenge of the Sith€™s release; recently the sixth season of The Clone Wars on Netflix dug into Order 66€™s origins, answering how the clones came to follow that order without question. The fallout of Order 66, aside from the destruction of the Jedi Order, isn€™t widely known as many people have wondered what happened to the Clone Troopers. Most casual Star Wars fans, those who don€™t read the Expanded Universe novels, watch The Clone Wars or search Wookiepedia, are unaware that Clone Troopers and Stormtroopers are two different things, believing the Empire kept on cloning soldiers. Because of the Empire's decision, the Clone Troopers virtually faced extinction as the Empire recruited its soldiers from the humanoid population, forcing them to slowly die out. A movie about Order 66 could also examine how some clones refused the order, due in part to their loyalty to their Jedi generals, and paid for their insubordination with their lives. It would be a good chance to show the individuality of the clones and how they could choose their own paths, but The Clone Wars television series has already done such an outstanding job in that regard that it would be hard for any feature film to top.
