Given how Obi-Wan Kenobi has been a major character throughout the Star Wars Saga, one could think hed be a character in less need of a solo movie than others. He was a significant character in the Prequel Trilogy and had a large influence in the original, but it cannot be denied Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of Star Wars greatest characters as well as a fan-favourite. There is also the matter of the considerable gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, a time span of 19 years, where Obi-Wan was exiled to the Tatooine desert, but it might be worth it to look at how that time period affected and changed him to be the man he was in A New Hope. Since he was tasked with watching over and protecting Luke Skywalker from Imperial forces, with the intention of one day training Luke, its obvious Obi-Wan didnt get up to too much during his self-imposed exile except meditate and grow through The Force. An Obi-Wan film would be a chance to show how he adjusted to life post-Jedi Purge and gained the ability to become a Force ghost. More importantly, it could also be an opportunity to show the steps he took to safeguard Luke, perhaps even coming across a group of Jedi survivors in need of his help along the way. What would be great is if the filmmakers were able to get Ewan McGregor to return in the role as he was one of the few truly good elements of the Prequel Trilogy. It would be great for any fan to see him come back and play an older, wiser Obi-Wan made famous by Alec Guinness in the Original Trilogy.
