Star Wars: 10 Strange Laws ALL Empire Employees Follow

2. Stormtroopers Can't Remove Their Helmet While On Duty

One of the most distinctive features of a Stormtrooper - beyond their iconic white outfit and propensity to aim horribly, that is - is the fact they never remove their helmets.

While in cinematic terms this helps paint them as a faceless, monolithic enemy, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we actually hear the rule confirmed as an official regulation, when Finn (John Boyega) is admonished by Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) for removing his helmet.

And with The Force Awakens being a recent major movie and all, this law is clearly about as canon as things can possibly get.

Though the helmet undeniably provides massive amounts of protection and tactical support to a Stormtrooper, it sure must get hot wearing the damn thing for an entire eight, ten, twelve-hour shift.

But at the end of the day, if you need to wear a helmet to keep your job - a job where your boss is the hard-ass to end all hard-asses - then perhaps it's understandable that so few have ever bothered to flout procedure.
