8. Who Are The Knights Of Ren?
The Knights of Ren are mentioned in The Force Awakens as an organisation of which Kylo Ren was a member, possibly their leader, and may well be the shadowy figures glimpsed in Rey's fevered visions granted her by Luke's lightsaber.
But who were the Knights of Ren? Even confined within their brief cameo, as a band of Dark Side practitioners they can hardly help being cool. Snoke mentions training Kylo, and the knights could be the Supreme Leader's other apprentices.
A deeper cut has the Knights of Ren being Luke's other padawans, who turned to the Dark Side along with Kylo Ren and prompted Luke to abandon his new Jedi Order. Another theory is that they are identical to the Acolytes of Beyond, a group of Sith cultists assembling Dark Side artefacts in a recent Star wars novel set before the events of The Force Awakens.
If Kylo Ren returns at the head of a band of Dark Side knights it would be cool enough, but it would help if we had some idea of where they came from.
